Investing in the Future, TranSource donates emissions components for Forsyth Tech Community College Diesel program

Today's heavy truck technicians must be capable of diagnosing the most advanced trucks produced. To be knowledgeable and effective in repairing these trucks this generation of technicians must be familiar with everything from changing oil to advanced computer diagnostics. A key component of all modern truck is the EATS - Exhaust After-treatment System. The "one box," as its called, contains the DOC - Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter and SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction. When our partners at Forsyth Technical Community College reached out for some training aids, TranSource Truck gladly stepped forward and donated an exhaust after-treatment system to the, college to use as a training aid in the college’s HEAT Program Heavy Equipment And Technology. .

Forsyth Tech’s AAS Degree in Diesel and Heavy Equipment requires a total of 5 semesters, over a 2 year span. The Program will train approximately 25 students per year in the hands-on art of heavy truck maintenance and repairs.

TranSource is a long term partner with Forsyth Technical Community College and supported the college on several projects and regularly HEAT students are offered the opportunity to see first hand a commercial truck dealership service department in full operation and experience the environment they will work in after graduation.

“It Is our goal to graduate technicians who can go from the classroom to service department environment and contribute immediately to their employer” said Alan Doub of FTCC. "These current model training aids will be extremely helpful in teaching up-to-date diagnostic skills. These training aids will help Forsyth Tech prepare HEAT students for the workforce and a great career."
